Good for the Eyes

Anthocyanin has been shown to help enhance night vision and overall vision by protecting the eyes from free radical damage. One study found that anthocyanin-rich bilberry extract has a protective effect on visual function during retinal inflammation (1) whilst a second study showed that anthocyanin has specific effects on rhodopsin regeneration and smooth muscle relaxation in vitro. In studies in vivo, anthocyanin was present in eye tissues and improved blood circulation (2)
